Hanging Out the Laundry
Through installation, video, and photography, Hanging Out the Laundry examines the titular task and unpacks its historical and personal implications. With the action of hanging laundry out to dry on the laundry line, Jackson strings together the history and memory of laundry. Her exhibition at Saint Kate recalls the intimate locale of a traditional linen closet, thus exposing the vulnerability associated with this dreamiest of household chores.
